Champagne Shivers Demented Nursery Rhymes Contest Winners

An editor who tries to pick a winner in a demented nursery contest finds herself in the same boat as the parent who tries to pick a favourite child. In short, it's an impossible task when you're given so many to love. With more than 200 entries, plus the demented nursery rhymes sent as regular submissions, I knew that a special feature for Champagne Shivers 2007 was inevitable.

Gerard Brennan, a demented poet from North Ireland, reaped the prizes for a delightful piece titled The Pie Trial. For those of you who are curious about Gerard's competitors, here are the equally demented runners-up who'll also participate in the special feature and receive payment for their rhymes at the usual rates along with their contributor's copy:

The Mother Guts Collection - by Lane Adamson

Mary Driver - by Scott Virtes

Heads, We Win - by Scott Virtes

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly - by Randy Nakoneshny

Burning Mad - by Karen L. Newman
