About The Vile Vineyard
|
Welcome to The Vile Vineyard, where all dark things come to roost during the day, resting up for the dark night of your soul. If you like horror and dark fantasy that rise above plebian slash and dash/slice and dice blood spurters . . . if you want thrills and chills, spooky and twisted, bare-bone-raw terror that keeps you shivering on the edge of your seat, rigid with fear like a bird that can't take its eyes off the snake, The Vile Vineyard is for you. The Vile Vineyard is a nest in Sam's Dot Publishing. Here you will find all of our horror and dark fantasy publications [plus a few others] listed for purchase, such as: CHAMPAGNE SHIVERS, the annual horror magazine edited by Cathy Buburuz, featuring stories, poems, cartoons, and really bad puns. HUNGUR MAGAZINE, the biannual sf/f vampire magazine edited by Terrie Leigh Relf and L. A. Story Houry -- the first issue will be released on All Souls Night, 2005. PANIC, the anthology of stories about what people do when they are terrified. Edited by L. A. Story Houry, PANIC also features poems and illustrations, and will be released on 1 August 2005. POTTER'S FIELD, the trade paperback anthology of tales from unmarked graveyards. The first volume is edited by Cathy Buburuz, and goes on sale 1 May 2005. SIDE SHOW, the best-selling trade paperback anthology of tales of the Big Top and the bizarre, edited by Cathy Buburuz, on sale now. And wait till you see our illustrated chapbooks . . . Here in the Vile Vineyard we'll also present updates of future publications. We'll tell you which publications are open to submissions, and we'll show you where to find the guidelines. As an ongoing attraction, a unique and fun-filled section of this site has been dedicated to its lovely mascot, Vinessa. Visitors to her ponderous pages can enjoy games, art, poetry, and horrific tidbits. From time to time, we'll provide you with special treats: interviews with noted horror writers; reviews of horror movies, magazines, books and chapbooks; special entertainments like the Transylvania Times; and on Walpurgisnacht and All Soul's Night . . . well, you'll see. Be sure to make The Vile Vineyard your favorite place for horror, and stop by often. We'd also like to hear from you. Tell us what you like and don't like, want and don't want. Just e-mail the Managing Editor of Sam's Dot Publishing, Tyree Campbell. Be sure to put Vile Vineyard in your subject line. On behalf of the Dark Angels of Sam's Dot Publishing, I bid you welcome.
