Eerie here down so deep
In this space of sable mystique
Where even Solere's bright eyes cannot see
And darkness never sleeps
Hidden here is beauty
Exotic and pristine
Surreal world of alien dream
Where life does thrive in the extremes
Of this abyssal keep
Within this forever shadow
The creatures here call home
Pillow lava pillars arise from magma flow
Venting breath of carbon bubbles and sulfur smoke
Around the terrain where the lava chimneys grow
To tower like Wiccawistras of stone
Upon the seamount slopes
Evolves a novel communal abode
Unlike any habitat Altrasia knows
Slowly floating above these thermal flues
Translucent glimmer of electric blue
The jewel nymphid drifts through endless gloom
Sirenaurlis shines like a neon moon
Weaving among the forest of smokestacks
Flame red radiance of a banshegast
Wifasith, like a phantom jetting past
Streaks for home, a lava pillar collapsed
To shelter from a hunter closing fast
Momentarily losing track
The taporca searches around the smoking shafts
"Til fire bright shimmer of fear in the black
Shows sienna Saccotida where hides the banshegast
As it feeds, the unwary taporca
Doesn't sense the predator it attracts
Moss green gleam of a medusamanta
Unseen, the Ceromakisra blitzkrieg attacks
Continuing this feral cinema
Camouflaged within the lava columns
Lurks the slate gray shaded cyning dragon
Chamelosauron, the sovereign one
Targets the medusamanta to prey upon
Here in eternal night
The magic of nature is the device
That gives the circle its celestial rhyme
Which interweaves these beings who reside
Within this benthic realm of life. . . .
