© 11/28/06 (Unrestricted Club Use) Scientists have discovered a life-regenerating substance in the aboriginal zing-zing juice whose components have been a closely guarded secret for many dana. A sample was left anonymously outside the offices of the Jade Regeneration Institute (JARI) one tenth of a dana ago. The Institute's scientists are still analyzing the mysterious liquid which has the inherent ability to change color spontaneously. Yesterday a JARI spokesman told our reporter: "This is the most exciting thing I've come across in my entire professional life. The aborigines have been known to use zing-zing as a recreational drug and its mood-enhancing properties are astonishing. But more importantly, one of its components, yet to be given an official scientific name, has the power to regenerate and fertilize the local sandy soil." He continued: "Without regular regeneration, Jade would become barren and there would be a dust-bowl situation, the like of which has never been known before." Known for their parasitic tendencies at certain phases of the Three Moons, Jade's aborigines are known to saturate the sand with blood that they obtain from nearby villagers in what they regard as a sacred ritual. For many dana, scientists believed that it was this blood that made the soil fertile. For that reason, no punitive action has ever been taken against the aborigines.
But in controlled laboratory conditions at JARI, plants have been grown and livestock raised on zing-zing alone. The Institute's scientists concluded that it was not the blood that brought about Jade's regeneration but the zing-zing juice. The discovery is expected to save the lives of large numbers of Jade's inhabitants for many dana into the future.
